T.J. Buckley
• Notebook & pen (in case I get the urge to write)
• Water jug (I'm always thirsty)
• A few simple tools & some wire (for wrapping sea glass & shells)
• Hat, bathing suit, shorts, shirt & beach shoes (maybe a T-shirt to sleep in)
• Dream catcher (the sound of waves is sure to lull me to sleep but I only want to experience the sweetest of dreams - and it's good "chi")
• Pouch of lucky stones (my favorite rocks & crystals - so comforting to me)
• Rescue Remedy (five helpful Bach Flower Remedies all in one bottle to help me conquer anxiety)
• Gypsy Cold Care tea (yum - good for whatever ails ya)
• My little book of Hasty Haiku & Personal Proverbs (sort of a diary)
• Bottle of wine (some extra-dry champagne would be even tastier!)
• Lotion (for soothing my sun-soaked skin)
• Corncob pipe & some American Spirit natural tobacco (I'd really enjoy an occasional puff at sunset on the boat dock after dinner)
• Book "Ponder On This" (by Alice A. Bailey & the Tibetan master Djwhal Khul) This book is chock-full of cosmic insights from A to Z (Example: "At the center of a great tornado is a point of peace...And thus it is with all the storms of life. They lead to peace if you are not a leaf.") Of course, if there was room in my tiny straw suitcase I'd also be re-reading J.R.R. Tolkein's "The Hobbit" & "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, or perhaps I'd bring my dog-eared copy of "Lonesome Dove" by Larry McMurtry or maybe Amy Tan's "Joy Luck Club." By the way, Mr. Prisket: I, too, love Tom Robbins, but give me "Jitterbug Perfume" or "Another Roadside Attraction."
• A small bag containing the following necessities: toothbrush & toothpaste, lip balm, Purell with aloe, comb, gum, aspirin, Band-Aids, tweezers, etc. (my usual medicine kit items - Always Be Prepared!)
AND, of course, my trusty
• Camera phone with memory card (for taking photos & short videos of my island escapades)
I look forward to spending an entire month on Creatus Spiritus with the hope that it will inspire my creativity to new heights and allow me to kindle wonderful new friendships. Thank you, Sir Vladimir, for inviting me!
Cordially yours, T. J. Buckley
