Kiss
by Katy Melody
SB here to tell you this,
A kiss is never just a kiss -
I was quite comfy in my sleep,
Dreaming dreams - not counting sheep -
Of living large, past castle walls,
And bathing naked ‘neath the falls,
Off riding bareback on my steed,
To tame the dragon, then to feed
On wild honey, chocolate stars,
Rich ale and spirits drunk from jars,
My journeys wound through wild lands,
I set the sail, I crossed the sands,
No handmaiden to comb my hair,
No mirror-man to call me fair,
Just my voice to echo back,
And guide me on my chosen track,
To frolic with the plainer folk,
The moon my light, the night my cloak,
Yes, life asleep was living free,
And all that changed with kiss of he,
Who lived within a fairy tale,
And could not see beyond its veil,
So thought it was our destiny,
To Ever After Happily,
His kiss awoke me like the dew,
One moment, and his dream came true,
While my dream was forever lost,
A single kiss, a mighty cost.
